“These guys bring a whole new element of fun to music and are so skilled it hurts!" The Admiral Hardy, London

“The Watling Street Band are incredible, one of a kind, huge amounts of fun and very talented - all our wedding guests left raving about them. Thanks to Ben, Ed and Fred!”

Stuart an Nicole

"The Watling Street Band were the perfect choice for our wedding party. Wonderful musicians, hugely talented, and combining that musicianship with a huge sense of fun. The great thing was that the band really cared about our evening and their role within it. They played all the best party music, with a great mix of styles that appealed to all tastes. The band got everyone up and dancing. A wonderful day, and the band were the extra special bit that made our wedding so memorable.
I would definitely use the band again and would recommend them to anyone - they are amazing!"

Funktasticly Delicious!!

These three lads bring funkishly devil-like vim and vigour to some classic

tunes that brings alive the dancer in all of us. We were amazed to find such

a unique band playing the kind of music that we love. The online tracks that

we were able to listen to sold us but we were totally blown away by their live

performance – they were utterly amazing and helped make our magical day

all the more special!!

The band were so accommodating and professional. They learnt a new song

for us to have as our first dance, which was so special. So many people at our

wedding commented upon the band and how great they were.

The dance floor was filled for the entire night and everyone from

Uncles and Aunts to eight year olds were dancing their hearts out!

Three brilliant musicians who bring their love of what they do into every song!

Memories that will last a lifetime!

Thank you The Watling Street Band!

I still believe that I won the tuba dance off with Ed,

however the band awarded the prize to the wife – FIX.

Fred, Ed, and Ben,

Wanted to drop you all a line to say a massive thank you for playing at our wedding a couple of weeks ago. Having stumbled across you by chance at the Greenwich Festival on the night of the London 2012 opening ceremony (where you supplemented the summer/London 2012 feel good factor amazingly!) we were really happy to be able to book you. One thing we wanted from the outset was good quality music played by talented musicians, and we got it by the bucket-load. We were so happy not to be stuck with a generic, cheesey hotel DJ.

I think I bored everyone silly saying how much I was looking forward to seeing you guys play again, but after a few songs everyone was in agreement that you were great. Original, funky, upbeat – perfect! Even the oldies loved you.

Thanks again so much for clear communication, no stress, and brilliant music! Say hi if you see us when playing the Pelton Arms/any other Greenwich pub and best of luck for your undoubtedly exciting, music-filled careers.

Jack and Meghan Rich

Three top lads with talent combining to give songs old and new their very own twist. We wanted something different for our wedding and that’s exactly what we got. From start to finish you not only lived up to our expectations but went well over and above. Our guests loved you as much as we did, foot tapping turned into foot stomping, foot stomping into Tuba led dance off’s and more.

We wanted to avoid cheesy wedding music and the stereotypical wedding band. You boys were right up our street!

So Ben, Fred and Ed thank you so much for blowing us away. My wife and I couldn’t stop smiling as we watched and joined our guests on the dance floor. You totally nailed the set list, got the songs in the right places to get people moving and keep the atmosphere alive. Too many song highlights to mention because they were all that good.

We’d also very much like to say how impressed we were with your professionalism throughout. We were let down time and again by bands in the run up to the wedding so to find a group that responded to emails, asked questions and treated us like clients rather than a pay day was really refreshing and put us totally at ease once you’d agreed to play.

Would we recommend The Watling Street Band. A big fat resounded YES. And we hope to see you playing live again soon.

Best Wishes

Rebecca: You were sooooo awesome, but we knew that already from your set in Brighton. You had everyone dancing from the word go, (from the young right through to old enough to know better) and they would have gladly carried on through the night! You learned our first dance from scratch, even changed instruments (thanks Ben!) and did an awesome job; being swung around by my crazy loon husband to such awesome music will stay with me forever. You even let my gorgeous hubby have a go on the mic, which by the way he loved a little too much! ;-) Oh, and ending the night with King of The Swingers......Genius! All our guests were so impressed with you and haven’t stopped raving about how amazing you were.

Dave: BEST.NIGHT.EVER!!!! Rather than being a band some people loved or everyone thought was ok, you blew everyone away with your brilliantly original songs, effortless skill and boundless energy.  Everyone found something they just had to get on the dancefloor for, and it was the perfect finish to our day. Thank you so much WSB!

ps. Please keep coming up with more crazy mash-ups, they’re brilliant!
pps. Also please keep thinking up more tuba/banjo/rap combos.
ppps. Sorry the venue had no Jagerbombs!!  Hats off for taking it in your stride and adapting to Skittlebombs!(we'll buy you a round next time I see you play).

Big Love from Mr & Mrs Moore!xx
